    • I'm a pregger. January 30, 2012
Well, the stick showed it, and the ob/gyn confirmed it. So I guess I am officially pregnant now! The baby is in its week 7 and is the size of a blueberry. This week the baby is developing arms and legs. It's mind-boggling a 'thing' the size of a blueberry has hands and feet!Wow, it sounds so surreal! When I took the pregnancy test, I was expec […]

    • Happy Chinese New Year! January 23, 2012
Yay! The first day of Chinese New Year. This is the year of the dragon, which is probably the most auspicious year for the Chinese, since we Chinese are the descendants of the dragon.Every year during this time I miss my family terribly. It's supposed to be a time for family gathering and I miss out on that every year ever since I moved to the U.S. Sigh […]

    • Last post of the year! The review of 2011. December 31, 2011
2011 was a year of fun, learning, and growth. In retrospect, it was a wonderful year for us.January: My sister came to visit and slept on our couch for about a month! We had so much fun while she was here. She celebrated her 24th birthday here too. My second semester in grad school started and this semester I got to co-teach a class with my mentor. It was th […]

Happy Thanksgiving! I had a great time in Las Vegas with my cousins and their families. Earlier:
I am now in the Changi Airport in Singapore, and I am now officially on my way home. I had a wonderful time here in Singapore, I got to meet with many of the wonderful people I knew here. I also got to eat with President and Sister Skelton, for my Release Dinner. I had a wonderful time. I didn’t have time to souvenir shop, though, because I am the only one going home now and didn’t have a companion. So I passed the time in the office writing notes and letters to all of my Recent Converts. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am sad to leave Asia and all of the wonderful people that I have met, but on the other hand, I am VERY excited to see my family and friends again. When one adventure closes, another begins. That is where I am right now, on the threshold. I am excited though, and I am confident that I will succeed with the Lord’s help.

And now I am in Hong Kong, just about to go to San Francisco……. long flight.

    Visa Run to Singapore!

    Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Wow, this week I got to take a Visa Run to Singapore with Elder Stevenson, cause our Visa’s were expired, so we had to go get them re-chopped. So I was really excited because it was my old area, and I got to go and meet lots of the people who I knew and taught there. I was wayyyyy excited. We stopped in Kuching to switch flights, then blasted on to Singapore. We landed in Singapore and reported to the Mission Office, then went off to Sim Lim Square to look at electronics. Elder Stevenson wanted to buy a camera. We looked at a few, and in the end, he bought the same kind I have. It is a nice camera. Then we went to eat at SUBWAY!!! I love Subway, and it has been 3 months since I’ve had any American food. Yay! It was good. Then we went back to the office and I went with Elder Ferdi (my old buddy from Sri Lanka) and Elder Hagobian (from Iraq) and we went to the Seasons Park Condo, my old house. It was really cool. Then I made some calls and went to meet some people with Elder Antony (from Sri Lanka) and Elder Worley. We went to see the Lim Family first. Only Kandace, Sam, and Sister Evelyn were there. But they invited us in and we got to chat for a while. It was a lot of fun^^. Then we had to rush to an appointment in Sembawang. On the way, we ran into Abish Lai^^ She is so awesome, it was good to see her again, and also Jennifer Yu. She is really nice too. And they both recognized me, despite my crazy short new haircut, lol. Then we also met up with Joseph Goh, and he came with us to the Marican’s house to help us with the appointment. The appointment was good, then we went to see Derrick and Jency. They were there, and it was soo cool to see them again. So we didn’t have much time, but we said hi to them. Then I went to see Alan Thong and his awesome family. I was in for awesome new… Alice got baptized!! And Alan’s mom has a baptism date!!! So awesome! I was so happy. Then we rushed home and I got a call from Nancy saying she had seen me there at a bus stop. So I got to talk to her for awhile too. So cool. I slept soudly that night. In the morning, I went to meet Romesh. He is still doing awesome! I love Romesh, cause he is so cool, and he is really smart and friendly, and he has a strong testimony. He is probably my favorite… well, better not pick favorites haha. But he is cool. He gave me some Italian handkerchiefs and candy. So cool. He said he is considering serving a mission. Wow! That would be so cool… Anyways.. we flew back and I got in to the Kuching Airport. I bought an RC helicopter. It was really cool. Then we flew to Bintulu. The next day, we played soccer again with the youth in the rain. Afterwards, Elder Rowley was really sick. He had to stay in all day. He has been sick all the way til now. We went to see a doctor. I am so bored staying inside all day!!!! I am losing my mind!!! Oh well, guess I can write some letters… Well, that’s about it. Here are the pics for this week:

    A Brief Stop In Singapore

    Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

After reaching Singapore, we found out where we would be going. Sister Pike was going to Bintulu, East Malaysia. Elder Mortensen would be going to Kandy, Sri Lanka. And I was going to Colombo, Sri Lanka. We went to the house to get some sleep on Wednesday. We were supposed to go on exchanges with the elders there, but we fell asleep, and they felt sorry for us so they didn’t wake us up. We went out on splits on thursday with some of the elders there. It was kinda scary. It was my first time doing any kind of missionary work. We did some ’street contacting’ and rode the MRT and a bus. We went to China Town and wandered around. Then we came back home to the Pasir Panjang house. I was with Elder Munden. The next day, we went to the airport and Elder Allen wished us luck and dropped us off. Elder Mortensen and I would be on the same flight. We found it ok, and waited. While I was waiting, I bought a small electric shaver, as mine had broken when I plugged it in to the new power source voltage. We boarded the plane and were on our way. We were pretty excited to be going to our first areas.

    Open House

    Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Well, we recently had an Open House for the new Stake Center here in Singapore. It is really nice. When I got here at the start of my mission, it was just dirt. Now it is complete, and I got to help out with the Open House. It was a lot of work, but everyone helped and so it went very well. I had to guide tours and also I had to man the missionary room and give a 3 minute presentation to anyone who came in, about what missionaries are and what we do, and answer any questions they had. It was a blast! One of my friends, Kev Koh, who is a professional photographer, took a lot of pics and he let me link to them. So, here they are:

The Dedication was on Sunday, and it was also really good, with Elder Donald Hallstrom from the Area Presidency giving the dedication. He spoke on how we needed to rededicate ourselves to more fully serve the Lord. It was just what we all needed to hear. Awesome spirit. Two of our investigators were baptized the following weekend in the new font. Strong Spirit.

    Me and Einfeldt

    Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Well, here is a test post featuring me and Elder Einfeldt. I took it with Kandace’s handphone, and then she sent it to me. The funny thing is, she put it on the cover of the ward bulleting the next day at church, so everyone in our ward saw it. It featured a quote by me about enduring to the end, she called for it and so I just made up one. haha
