    • Story #306: Music August 29, 2010
Kate Vogele is someone I'll be listening to for a long time. Her music rocks! I love love love her style, lyrics, and of course, music. I discovered her unintentionally after listening to S.H.E's 爱就爱了(S.H.E is a popular girl group in Taiwan by the way). I realized S.H.E were doing the cover for Kate's song, "Angel" so I had a listen […]

    • Story #304:I am back! August 20, 2010
Hi peeps! How's your week? Mine was so much fun, so much driving, so much instant food, so much nature, and so much sight-seeing. I've taken about 1000 pics in about a week. I would've taken more if I weren't in the car so much. Oh ya, our road trip took us to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Calgary, Banff, and Yoho Natio […]

    • Story #303: Southern Utah weekend August 11, 2010
Last weekend, I skipped class (the class talks about nothing important anyways), and drove the 3 hour back to our beloved Toquerville and St.George. St.George was okay, Toquerville was fantabulous! I got to see my buddies, Max and Nikki. Max still smells as bad and Nikki seemed to be so quiet. I'm sure Max still remembers me even after the 2 month absen […]

    • Story #302:Ahh...the field of purple that makes my heart sing August 6, 2010
On the same day that we went tubing in Provo Canyon, Mr.L and I went to the Lavender farm in Mona. Because I have so many friends in Europe (most of them are my high school friends who went there for college) and I go to some Chinese forums where hundreds of Chinese students in Europe post their pictures every single day, I came to know and fall in love with […]

    Masquerade Ball

    Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Me and Sharon decided to go a Masquerade Dance Party at our friend Janelle’s house because it was her roommate’s birthday. We didn’t know anyone there, so it was a nice opportunity to meet new people. I met Charmaine Chen, somone I knew from my mission in Singapore. It was cool because we got to talk about Singapore and the members there. We downloaded our masks from the internet and printed them out, cut them and put on strings. It was a lot of fun.

    General Conference

    Friday, March 28th, 2008

I watched General Conference with Sharon at my house. We stood and sustained Thomas S Monson at the Solemn Assembly. It was quite an experience. Then we hung out the rest of the day. We have been spending so much time together recently! But I love it.

    Paul and his Fiance

    Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Paul and his Fiance, Nicky, came to Hawai’i for the weekend. I was their personal chauffeur for their stay. I went to pick them up at the airport and showed them the sites. Sharon came with me to pick them up, for which I was very grateful. We had a good time with Paul and Nicky, eating at Stone Cold Creamery. I took him to stay with his old Trainer from his Mission, who also lives here. The next day, I picked him up and we went to Hanauma Bay to snorkel. It was amazing. I took pictures with an underwater camera, which I hope he will send me copies of. There were so many fish and lots of coral. The next day, I took them to church with me. Sharon came as well. Then we ate at the cafeteria. After that, I took Paul to the other place he would be staying at in Laie. I gave him my keys and let him use my car for the next 2 days that they would be here. It was a lot of fun to be with Paul again and to talk of old times, and also it was good to meet his Fiance. They will be married on April 4th. I wish them all the best!

    My own Web-Site!

    Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I bought a web hosting package from globat.com as a birthday present to myself. The domain, which I already owned, is wildkatana.com . I installed this blog into the root directory, but I have big plans for the future. I am going to host all of my pictures and videos here, as well as my future projects. This is my new e-Home!

    Selling My Car

    Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I sold my car the other day for $950 dollars. This was a good deal for me, as I actually made profit off of the car after using it for 3 months. I am going to miss it though. The man who bought it, Terry, is going to ship it to Greece to use when he goes there (he works for the Air Force).

    My Car

    Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I bought a car from a person who lives on the south side of the Island at Ewa Beach through a website (craigslist). He was a really nice guy, and, after talking for a while, we found out we were both LDS! It was really cool. So on Saturday I took a long 2 hour bus ride down to look at the car and met up with him. He let me drive it around and I got to meet his family. In the end, he asked me how much I thought was a fair price. He had listed the car for $1000 so I thought, well, maybe I can get him to drop the price a little. So I told him I would be willing to pay around $800, because that was more in my budget. He thought for a minute, and then told me, “Well, you are a student, and a return missionary, and so I’m going to do even better than your $800 you offered. How does you taking this car for $500 sound?” I was shocked! I asked him, “Are you serious?” Haha. He was. I readily agreed and thanked him for his kindness. We signed the proper papers and he stocked my car with new oil and a new filter before wishing me well and seeing me off. I only had $150 on me but he let me take it with the agreement that I would send the other $350 by mail on Monday when the banks opened. I was truly blessed to have this car and this good deal!
The car is a Mazda MX-3 1994 model. It has run very good for me so far, and hasn’t had any major problems which I couldn’t fix yet. I cleaned the car up and fixed it up a bit on the way home. I still plan to add a new audio system and possibly get the car re-painted to increase the value of it. I also need to change the brake pads and the oil soon. When I find the time… Haha

    My Mission Blog is Over

    Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Well, it has been a while since I have updated my old blog, and I have made it a goal to start doing my blog again, as a replacement for a journal, because I know how important it is to always keep a record of my activities. I have been really busy with school and also with doing many other things, so this kind of got pushed to the back of the list. I have decided, however, that rather than adding on to www.elderwhiting.blogspot.com blog I should instead start a new blog so as to differentiate my current life from my mission life. From henceforth, I will be writing this blog located here with http://wildkatana.ws as a link. So go check it out. I will make it a goal to update it at least every week. I hope that many people will someday benefit from it, and I also hope that many people have enjoyed my mission blog.

Well, it has been a while since I have updated this blog, and I have made it a goal to start doing my blog again, as a replacement for a journal, because I know how important it is to always keep a record of my activities. I have been really busy with school and also with doing many other things, so this kind of got pushed to the back of the list. I have decided, however, that rather than adding on to this www.elderwhiting.blogspot.com blog I should instead start a new blog so as to differentiate my current life from my mission life. That is why this will be the last post on this, the Elder Whiting blog, and from henceforth, I will be writing a blog located at http://wildkatana.ws. So go check it out. I will make it a goal to update it at least every week. I hope that many people will someday benefit from it, and I also hope that many people have enjoyed my mission blog. So, without further ado, Elder Whiting: Signing Off.
