In Florida
Saturday, September 22nd, 2007Well, it’s been awhile since I have updated this, life has just been so busy. I’m actually thinking of just locking this as just my mission stuff and starting a new blog for my regular life, so we’ll see how it goes. Probably on Sunday I will have more time, since I’m working full time now here in Florida. And when I’m not working I’m surfing. So it is pretty busy. But it is a good job I have here, and I really like it. Oh yeah, before I forget, if anyone want to call me, I got a new cell phone number: 1-435-256-1301. Just call me if you want, I’d love to hear from anyone. Well, that’s it for now, just a small update, but I’ll update more on Sunday. I am very sore from surfing. Love you all!

At Home Again
Friday, September 21st, 2007Wow, after 2 years, I am finally home! It is amazing and strange, but I am getting used to it. It wasn’t really a shock like I thought it would be. I never really get culture shocked, not when I went to Sri Lanka or anywhere else. I guess that’s just my personality, haha. My family was there to meet me after I got off the plane, and they had made signs and stuff so it was really cool. Everyone looked the same except for Kendall, he is huge now! Uncle Todd and his family came also. He has 4 kids now!
Crazy! And Paul was there too. I didn’t recognize him at first, I just kind of glanced past him, but then when I looked again, I recognized him! So cool to see him again. We all hugged and got acquainted again, then we went to eat at Taco Bell at my request, the first time I’d been there in two years. After that we drove home. I got to drive a car that my Dad is letting me use from St George to our house. It just came back naturally, like riding a bicycle , you never forget. That’s one thing I really missed, was driving. I got some sleep that night (It had been 40
hours plus since I had slept last). In the afternoon, President Jeppson came by and released me. He asked me a lot of questions in the interview, and it took about 45 minutes to an hour. So, I am now officially not a missionary anymore. Feels like…. freedom haha . But also strange. I went in to St George to meet up with my friends and also to go to an interview for work. I got the job, which I was recommended to by Paul, who already works there. I will start training next Monday, and I will be flying to Florida on the 16th or 17th . I will be staying with Paul in a hotel there furnished by the company, with all expense paid, including travel and food. So that is cool. It will be about 15 minutes from the beach, so we expect to be doing a lot of surfing. I will be getting 40 hours a week and $15 an hour, so I hope to save all of it for school. So that was cool to get the job. I went to see Justin, Nate, Tyler and Ben. We played some video games and talked and stuff. It was cool. Then I came back home. That is my life so far, haha.
When I got home, I went through all my boxes I left and was surprised to find that I actually still had stuff, haha. I will be uploading lots more videos from my mission in the next couple days/weeks, so keep checking. But I won’t really be adding much more as far as my life goes, at least not on this blog. Maybe I’ll make another
one for my life, cause I wanna keep this one dedicated to my mission. I will be working on uploading the rest of my pics and finishing the maps. Anyways, gotta run! I love you all!
Love, Leighton

I am now in the Changi Airport in Singapore, and I am now officially on my way home. I had a wonderful time here in Singapore, I got to meet with many of the wonderful people I knew here. I also got to eat with President and Sister Skelton, for my Release Dinner. I had a wonderful time. I didn’t have time to souvenir shop, though, because I am the only one going home now and didn’t have a companion. So I passed the time in the office writing notes and letters to all of my Recent Converts. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am sad to leave Asia and all of the wonderful people that I have met, but on the other hand, I am VERY excited to see my family and friends again. When one adventure closes, another begins. That is where I am right now, on the threshold. I am excited though, and I am confident that I will succeed with the Lord’s help.
And now I am in Hong Kong, just about to go to San Francisco……. long flight.
