    • Story #306: Music August 29, 2010
Kate Vogele is someone I'll be listening to for a long time. Her music rocks! I love love love her style, lyrics, and of course, music. I discovered her unintentionally after listening to S.H.E's 爱就爱了(S.H.E is a popular girl group in Taiwan by the way). I realized S.H.E were doing the cover for Kate's song, "Angel" so I had a listen […]

Hi peeps! How's your week? Mine was so much fun, so much driving, so much instant food, so much nature, and so much sight-seeing. I've taken about 1000 pics in about a week. I would've taken more if I weren't in the car so much. Oh ya, our road trip took us to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Calgary, Banff, and Yoho Natio […]

    • Story #303: Southern Utah weekend August 11, 2010
Last weekend, I skipped class (the class talks about nothing important anyways), and drove the 3 hour back to our beloved Toquerville and St.George. St.George was okay, Toquerville was fantabulous! I got to see my buddies, Max and Nikki. Max still smells as bad and Nikki seemed to be so quiet. I'm sure Max still remembers me even after the 2 month absen […]

    • Story #302:Ahh...the field of purple that makes my heart sing August 6, 2010
On the same day that we went tubing in Provo Canyon, Mr.L and I went to the Lavender farm in Mona. Because I have so many friends in Europe (most of them are my high school friends who went there for college) and I go to some Chinese forums where hundreds of Chinese students in Europe post their pictures every single day, I came to know and fall in love with […]

    Niah Caves Trip

    By Leighton | March 6, 2007

Hello all, sorry that I don’t have very much time to update this today. We had a trip to Niah Caves, and we just got back and only have like 30 mins til our appointment, so I have to be way fast. It was a ton of FUN! I really loved it. We slept over at the other district’s house and then left early in the morning. It still took 2.5 hours to drive there. Then after we got there, we had to take a boat up the river a little and then we had to hike through the jungle to get to the caves. It was about a 1.5 hour jungle trek, because the road was under construction.
The caves were way awesome! I’ve always loved caves anyways, so I had a lot of fun. But one thing I forgot to bring was a flash light, so a lot of the time I had to go in pitch darkness or else use my camera as a light. It was also really dirty. It was covered in bat guano all over the floor and walls and everything. So when we had to climb or anything, our hands got filthy dirty. We had to eat at the end with way dirty hands. Haha, but it was way fun. The Miri elders were also there, so I got to catch up with some old friends. I am still covered in bat guano as I type, and it really actually stinks haha. That was basically it. The caves were awesome!
I got an Iban dictionary from my bud in Miri, Elder Christensen, so now I can start to study it more effectively. I am excited about that.
Earlier this week, we had 3 baptisms, Frankie, Sima and her daughter Sanggu. They are all way awesome, found after I came here to the area. So that was exciting. We have another family getting baptized this weekend. They are really awesome also!
Oh yeah, another important announcement, is that today is officially my 18 month mark of being on a mission. I entered the MTC on September 7,2005. Crazy how fast time flies.
Well, I am out of time. Bleh, I wish I could type more, but I will have to wait til next week. Oh well, at least I was able to upload my photos. I don’t have time this week to caption them, but I will try to do it by next week. I love you all!

Hi Leighton. I really enjoyed reading about your mission and seeing the photos on your blog. I am really proud of you and the great young man you are becoming. I have a strong testimony of the gospel and I know that the greatest thing any one could ever do is to share the gospel and teach others of our Savior. I love you. Aunt Jolene
